| ABOUT PEDCO AND THE PONCA TRIBE OF NEBRASKA
The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska chartered the Ponca Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) as a tribal corporation responsible for providing the Tribe with sustainable capital investment opportunities.
PEDCO operates outside of the political processes of the Tribe and provides oversight responsibility for all of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska’s economic development activities. In order to remain free of the political process and at the direction of the Ponca Tribe’s Tribal Council PEDCO successfully negotiated its own Self-Determination (also known as a 638) Contract directly with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
A seven member Board of Directors, composed of members of the community we serve, The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, is chartered with responsibility for identifying and recommending business opportunities and serving as the investment interface by providing reviews and management oversight for economic development opportunities.
